What we collect

• Your song details— the recipient's name, the memories and details you write, and your genre, mood and voice choices, plus the resulting lyrics.
• Contact & payment — your email address at checkout. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
• Technical & usage data — your IP address, device/browser information and how you use the site (via cookies and analytics), to run, secure and improve the service.

Why we're allowed to use it (lawful bases)

• To perform our contract with you — creating and delivering your song and handling your order.
• With your consent — non-essential cookies, analytics and advertising, and any marketing emails.
• For our legitimate interests — keeping the site secure, preventing abuse and improving the product.

How we use it

To generate and deliver your song and reveal page, send order, delivery and support emails, provide customer support, detect misuse and fraud, and improve the service.

Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to run the site. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (to understand how the site is used) and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel (to measure and improve our ads). You choose via the cookie banner and can change your mind at any time by declining non-essential cookies.

Who we share it with

We use trusted providers to run the service and share only what's needed: Stripe (payments), our AI music engine (song creation), OpenAI (lyric writing), Supabase (secure hosting & storage), Resend (email), Vercel (website hosting), and — with your consent — Google (analytics), Microsoft (Clarity) and Meta (ad measurement). We never sell your data.

Where your data goes (international transfers)

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision — to keep it protected.

How long we keep it

• Your song & reveal page — available for 90 days, then removed, so please download and keep your MP3.
• Order & payment records — kept for up to 6 years to meet our legal and tax obligations.
• Analytics data— retained according to each provider's settings.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or port it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. To do so, email hello@personalisedsonggifts.comand we'll respond within one month. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Marketing

We'll only send you marketing emails if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email.

Children

Our service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. While a song's recipient may be a child, those details are provided by the adult placing the order. We don't knowingly collect personal data directly from children.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit, access controls and reputable providers — to protect your personal data.
